Registration Requirements

In order to be a voter in Quincy, you must be:

  1. A United States citizen

  2. Age 18 on or before election day

  3. A resident of Quincy

The last day to register to vote for the September Primary Election is Wednesday, August 12th, 2020. The last day to register to vote for the November Final Election is Wednesday, October 14th, 2020.

Primary Day is Tuesday, September 1st, 2020.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020.

Polls are open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Early voting begins on Saturday August 22nd to Friday August 28th for the Primary Election, and Tuesday, October 17th, 2020 to Friday, October 30th, 2020 for the Final Election.

Because of COVID-19 safety concerns, voting locations may be changing. Please check the Quincy City Clerks website or call the office to confirm location.

Mail in Ballots and Where do I vote?

This is the first time that the state will utilize mail in ballots.  The mail in ballot application will allow you to receive a ballot for the September 1st primary election, November 3rd final election or both.  Beginning July 15th, Secretary of State will send to registered voters by mail, their mail in voting applications.   The form must be sent back to the city clerk by August 26th for the primary election.

For the November 3rd election, the Secretary of State will mail in applications starting September 14th.  However, if you already requested a November 3rd ballot as part of the primary ballot application, you will not receive an application.  Mail in ballot applications for the November 3rd election must be sent back to the city clerk by October 28th.
